New crash information added by DrKonqi
I browsing my home folder and items were sorted by name and grouped. Crash occured when I selected a folder (from keyboard) and pressed the "shift+delete" combination.
Yes, I did it :) Arch Linux (x86-64) KDE 4.4.5 Qt 4.6 With all recent updates. Reproducible — always. All that is need to reproduce: 1. Settings → Configure Dolphin → Navigation → Single click to open ... 2. Enable grouping (it's by type for me, but this is irrelevant). 3. Create new folder (folder name is irrelevant too). 4. Move the mouse pointer above this new folder. 5. Now you need to be careful and don't move the cursor. 6. Make a left click to open this new folder. 7. Make a right click to open context menu (but don't moving the mouse!) 8. ... 9. PROFIT! (In reply to comment #6) Thanks, but I cannot reproduce using your instructions :-( > 6. Make a left click to open this new folder. > 7. Make a right click to open context menu (but don't moving the mouse!) Do you make these clicks quickly (such that you open the context menu before the new folder is actually opened) or slowly, such that you right-click the empty view showing the new folder (both ways don't lead to a crash for me)? Same for me, cannot reproduce using your instructions 2010/7/6 Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com> > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237479 > > > > > > --- Comment #7 from Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac googlemail com> > 2010-07-06 17:16:22 --- > (In reply to comment #6) > > Thanks, but I cannot reproduce using your instructions :-( > > > 6. backtrace
Speed is irrelevant here. The most important moment is that I shouldn't move the mouse cursor. If I move it, even on 1 pixel, crash will not happens. Sometimes it also works with keyboard — I've just select the folder, press enter and press the special key on the keyboard, which open context menu.

*** Bug 256601 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Reporter of bug 256601 says he can reproduce on his system. From bug 261874: -- Information about the crash: I was trying to move a file to subdirectory. I took it and dragged on subdirectory icon, Dolphin entered subdirectory and when I released mouse button, it crashed. Looks like it crashes only if source directory has "Show in groups" in view mode. Probably "Sort by date" is matter also. Also, if I switch off "Show in groups", then enter a directory, then switch it on again, there is no crash on file move. Only if Dolphin enters directory that already has "Show in groups", then crash appears *** Bug 261874 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** The reporters of bug 256903 and bug 270058 got the crash when trying to delete selected files with Shift+Delete. The reporter of bug 272240 says he can reproduce the crash when viewing his /usr/bin directory (on Arch Linux) and grouping by file type. *** Bug 272240 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 60096 [details]
