SVN commit 1125910 by tokoe: Add unknown email addresses correctly to the distribution list BUG: 237361 M +10 -1 distributionlistdialog.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1125910 Sorry to reopen this bug again, but the bug does as well affect lists where all members are already in the addressbook. BTW, When will there be a drag'n drop functionality to maintain lists? or just something more handy than it is now? Thx, axel ...update: Kaddressbook doubles up the contacts: If you have recipient A in the addressbook, and want to save him in a mailing list, the mailing list is empty, but A is twice in the addressbook.... I'm hit by exactly the same problem with KDE 4.4.3 on Kubuntu 10.04. Creation of the distribution list from Kmail or Kaddressbook lead to the same problem: the list becomes empty. having the same problems with kmail 4.4.5 1) if saving addresses from kmail the addressbook doesnt check if the address is already there (a feature that was there before) 2) saving distribution lists from kmail leads to empty lists that exist in the addressbook, but contain only a number of empty entries - also within composer they appear empty but are these two problems caused by the same kmail-kaddressbook-inconsistency? otherwise we would need two bug reports here, right? although it would be great to get the two of them resolved ;) BTW, the first of the problems is already described in Bug 254872 and, to be more precise about the inconsistency in my case: some of my distribution lists are working (showing me the addresses belonging to it) within kmail-composer, others within kaddressbook. but as you might expect - they are never identical: the ones working in kmail are empty in A/B, and the other way around. how to produce an empty list: "save list" in kmail-composer if more than one address field is present, or within kaddressbook: ok, since there is no obvious possibility to add a bunch of existing addresses to a group, I copy an existing (and working) group from the "resource" or the "Personal Contacts" addressbook to the default one, the "Adress Book". If I paste it there, the contacts in the group are present for half a second (they are shown in the right part of the window), then they just vanish. For me, this issue is working correctly since ke 4.7 (or 4.6, not sure as i stopped using groups for a long while). Could you test again, and let us know if there are still problems? I run 4.6.5 and see the adresses under the list, but still the list is not properly resolved when I send it. but that seems to be a different bug Any objections to closing this one? Let me x-check in the latest KDE version. I still have a severe Bug in KDE 4.7.2 (openSUSE 12.1 delivery) open andwait for a reply if additional info is needed. If not, I will upgrade to 4.8.x and come back on this bug. News on this using kde 4.8.1? list creation works with 4.8.1 But still the list creation adds all addresses once more to the addressbook, and the list is not resolved on sending. Regarding this bug, you can close it. Thanks resolving, per OP |
