Sentry Crash Report:

Description Charles Opondo 2010-05-08 01:41:45 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic

I get this message during the boot process since upgrading from Kubuntu 9.10 to 10.04:

FATAL: Error inserting smsc_ircc2 (/lib/modules/2.6.32-22-generic/kernel/drivers/net/irda/smsc-ircc2.ko): No such device

However it does not disrupt the process, which proceeds normally to launch KDE and a working desktop.

This looks like a Linux kernel message, and is unrelated to KDE.

I would suggest to file this bug to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ and let the Ubuntu maintainers decide if it is a kernel bug or an Ubuntu bug.
