Description anton 2010-05-06 09:43:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

1. sudo killall NetworkManager -> knetworkmanager icon would turn into generic icon with "network managemanent disabled" message

2. sudo /usr/sbin/NetworkManager -> nothing changes with knetwokrmanager tray icon and "network management disabled" popup message is still there, though system notification area shows message "wlan0 connected" and inet connection returns

3. killall knetworkmanager; knetworkmanager -> knetworkmanager icon in the tray shows active connection as it should.

I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 10.04 as well as Debian testing(squeeze). If you suspend and resume a laptop a KDE destop will disconnect from the network without a gui ability to enable networking again.
