What I was doing when the application crashed:
Just open http://www.rockbox.org/mail/archive/rockbox-dev-archive-2010-04/att-0106/linux4nano_bounty_rev01.xls on koffice 2.2rc and you'll get the attached bactrace.

KDE 4.3.4, but also reproduced on 4.4.2.
Qt 4.6.2, libc6 2.10.2 on a Debian testing (also reproduced on sid).

It did not crash..in the new release 2.3 alpha

Just like you write yourself, the current trunk does not crash on that file.  I think we can close this bug report.
