Sometimes when I open the context menu it is shown as a top-level window in the taskbar and can't be hidden by clicking outside of it or on the applet icon. After some clicks on the applet icon the menu is reduced to its first line and becomes unusable.

Is this still happening with the plasmoid version? The monolithic knetworkmanager is unmaintained.

No, I haven't seen such problems with the plasmoid.
