When it is impossible to connect to akonadi, kontact will print this:
kontact(8629)/libakonadi Akonadi::SessionPrivate::socketError: Socket error occurred: "QLocalSocket::connectToServer: Invalid name" 

without showing any popup message.

Can you reproduce this issue with KDEPIM 4.4.9 and a recent kdepimlibs ?
