Thanks for the report, this issue has been fixed in KDE SC 4.4.0. For KDE SC 4.3 it should also help to update the strigi package. Peter, isn't this bug 205631? I see no fix for this bug yet; the code still uses "data" uninitialized (see upstream bug report). Thanks Christoph, you are right. I have tested with no torrents in the background with a freshly booted system. Still same behavior.
