Description Benjamin Schindler 2010-04-29 17:02:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I've bought a logitech headset which has a soundcard built-in. Unfortunatelly, I have some gripes with using it in kde:

- When I replug it, a new entry in the Sound and Video configuration gets created (I say mostly as it correctly switched since now once)
- I'm unable to remove old, unneeded entries.
- When I manually set then the prefer to the logitech headset, amarok did not switch to it per default, but I had to restart it (not sure whether this is a phonon or amarok issue)
- Other applications (other than kde-apps) fail to use the headset even though I prefer it. This might be by design, but it's rather odd to have a youtube video not have sound but have in the settings the headset set as default

Also, I'm unsure whether I've now reported multiple issues here - if so I'm sorry

Does that still happen with pulseaudio support enabled?
Comment 3 Benjamin Schindler 2013-02-26 11:33:18 UTC
No, it is not listed multiple times. The issue I have however now, is that upon pretty much every login, phonon asks me whether it should forget about certain devices, some of which are listed multiple times. They are on-board cards (one sitting on the graphics board for HDMI out, the other one on the mainboard), so there is no point in forgetting them. Going into the phonon list still lists them all however.

May be they are leftover devices from non-pulseaudio times - I dunno.
