Description Hein van Rensburg 2010-04-25 12:19:16 UTC
Version: version 1.4 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Dolphin 1.4 in Kubuntu Lucid RC and KDE 4.4.2 loses data when a file is copied twice. This happened when I was copying a directory from one drive to another and Dolphin crashed without completing to transfer.

When I restarted dolphin and treied to coipy again it came up with the options skip, skip automatically etc. When I clicked skip automatically, the system did not copy the outstanding files, but stopped after a few seconds looking like it completed the copying.

When I checked the directory, nothing was added or copied. This is a very seriuous bug as it gives the impersssion data is copied when it is not and can lead to serious data loss and damage.

The file copy conflict dialog has been dramatically changed and now offers the ability to "write info" the existing folder when the original copying fails.
