Version: 0.4.0-1 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

iGoogle seems to be causing the CPU usage to shoot up to around 50%, slowing down the system.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an iGoogle page.
2. Load iGoogle.

Expected behavior: CPU usage shoots up for a bit while loading the page, but then quickly drops.
Observed behavior: CPU usage remains around 50%.

Is this a rekonq bug or something else?

I tracked it down. The problem has to do with the chat function in iGoogle.
Adding chat to iGoogle causes the spike; removing it reduces CPU usage. The
question now is whether the problem can be fixed.

(I apologize for the double post. 235003 is a duplicate. Not sure what
happened.)

I can confirm this issue, but as it happens in arora too, I highly suspect it to be a QtWebKit issue.

I'll report it at their bugtracker
