Description Philipp 2010-04-18 00:02:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I don't know if i'm reporting this bug for the right program, but i'll give it a shot:

If a filename includes an invalid character dolphin/konqueror/krusader/krename can't rename, move, delete or open the file. renaming the file with the command-line works, and after that it can be opened in dolphin etc. so the files are not erroneous.
file system is ext3. encoding is unicode.

the error message says:"The file or folder /folder/file.extension does not exist."

I think i got the invalid characters when i was moving files from my NTFS drive to my ext3 drive. maybe i didn't mount the NTFS drive with the right encoding :(

Thanks for the bug report! This looks like a known encoding problem indeed. Unfortunately, it seems that it's not easy to fix (see the comments in the other bug report).
