Hi, I'm not sure if it is Firefox or Okular related. But since I assume Okular should have any kind of temporary PDF cache I assume Okular. Here my problem, it's reproducible:

1. in Firefox I open some link to a PDF
2. I open this PDF with Okular
3. Okular shows this PDF
4. I close Firefox
5. Okular closes this PDF

The expected behavior resp. the behavior I expect is that Okular preserves the PDF until I close Okular -- even if I close Firefox.

Are you sure you are running KDE 4.4.2?

Yes, current Debian Experimental packages. Okular in Version 0.10.2.

Can you please try this?
cp somefile.pdf a.pdf
okular a.pdf &
wait until okular loads the file
rm a.pdf

Does okular close the pdf file after the rm?

No, it is not closing.

Hmmm, i can reproduce if it is launched by firefox too, will have a look tomorrow why we try to reload the file.
