Sentry Crash Report:

Description niburu1 2010-04-08 18:59:25 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When "Show a message in a popup" is enabled for Incoming Message notification, the popup message lasts for a fraction of a second. Obviously this is not long enough and the message cannot be read.

hi,
Thanks for taking time to report this bug.the time for notification is about 4-5seconds which is enough according to me. Plus, If I want to ignore a message, increase the time would only annoy the user.

Have you considered 'Disabling' this auto-hide for notifications?

Right CLick on 'System tray"

* System Tray Settings --> Auto Hide --> uncheck 'Automatically hide new notifications and jobs after a short delay'

As I said, for me the notification is a fraction of a second--maybe 500ms. From your response, I guess this is a problem specific to my configuration. Other notifications display just fine, so this is obviously a problem with Kopete on my system.

The problem is not present after a fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04.

Closing bug since the reporter said it is working now.
