The birthay in the contacts list is shown in a very long format. That takes up very much space in this list, leaving less for other information. As this list should give a short overview such a long date format isn't necessary there. Instead of showning "Wednesday 02 September 1959" a short "02.09.1959" would be enough. It's nice to see the day of the week but that should be shown in the information pane and not in the list.

On the other hand in the information pane at the right the birthday is shown in very short format (02.09.1959 in this case). It really should be vice-versa. Full information in the right pane, short information in the list.
