What I was doing when the application crashed:
KDE version: 4.3.2
OS: openSuse 11.2
When selecting "add panel" monitor goes black for a few seconds after which error appears showing KDE application for plasma workstation has crashed. This has happened twice.

Further, Dolphin File Manager will fail to launch and peripherals such as card reader will also fail.

Work around strategy so far has been to reboot laptop.
