Swisstopo (and probably other national maps as well) can now be accessed through WMS. As of March 2021 access to the data is free. See https://shop.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/products/free_geodata https://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/home/products/services/swisstopowms.html Suggest that this wish can be closed as fixed. See also bug 379237. With the latest Marble development we improved WMS support: The WMS integration has been considerably improved, you can now select multiple layers and you can now choose OpenStreetMap (for a start) as a "backdrop" layer. Also given the amount of layers at https://wms.geo.admin.ch/ Marble now provides a search-lineedit so that the layer selection becomes searchable. Additionally the preview image for the generated map theme is created based on the boundaries (which oddly doesn't seem to work with https://wms.geo.admin.ch but works most of the time). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 379237 *** |
