Description oliver stieber 2010-03-25 13:59:19 UTC
Version: 1.13.1 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-0.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64

If kmail is in the middle of syncing a mailbox and the internet connection drops (and then comes back up again in my setup). Mail syncing hangs.

Abort doesn't seem to work (left for several minutes)

I've tried switching from working online to offline and back again.
and tried aborting in offline mode and after the switch too.

only verified this happens with IMAP on my gmail account, not tried other transports or providers.

I would expect:

Preferably, mail syncing to automatically resume after a connection time out.
Defiantly, to be able to abort mail syncing no matter what state it's in.
Also, Switching from working offline to working online to give things a bit of a kick. (though I would hope that I don't have to take that approach to get things working again)

Other apps such as transmission also have this behaviour. I'm not sure what transmission is based on, may be a problem with libraries.
