Hello, I have found out how to reproduce the high CPU consumptions by the 2 processes. It works as following: 1 I am reading in Kontact/kmail my mail messages in full screen window. After reading the mail I click closebutton (top right) By accident I click close again and that closes (unwanted) Kontact/Kmail 2 So I restart Kontact in the same desktop and that results in the 2 high CPU consumption processes. Only shutting down the system and start it again or the combined Restart version correct the high CPU consumption situation for the 2 mentioned processes. Hopefully this helps. Regards, Frans I observe the same high CPU usage by plasma-desktop and xorg with the KDE4.6 release. Generally usage is low after booting, and becomes intolerably high (totaling near 100% of total CPU) after a while, often associated with leaving machine for a few/10 minutes and coming back to it. I can confirm that. A KDE 4.x KMail ist consuming VERY much CPU resources mostly all the time. I'm using OpenSUSE 11.3 and 11.4. Sometimes it's not possible to work with it. How can I provide relevant informations about that for you? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 235607 *** |
