Which exact message are you shown ? If this is not private information, could you give the name of this server that requires an uppercase name ? News.CIS.DFN.DE you need a username and pass to access the server, but you only get one, if you study at or work for a german university... When I look at the properties of the server, they're still displayed with uppercase, but when I try to subscribe to groups it tells me I have no list of articles. I chose to fetch the list of articles and then I get Timeout on server news.cis.dfn.de (this is a translation from the german error message "Zeitüberschreitung auf dem Server news.cis.dfn.de") I don't think the problem is related to the case of the server name. I can reach this server with both (upper and lower case) names. In the server properties, do you setup encryption ? If yes, then could you check your login and password ? Because I have the same error message (timeout) if I enter an invalid login/password. You are right, my password was wrong. I can access the news now, thank you Still, the error message is misleading... Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. |
