Version:           2.1.81 (using KDE 4.4.1)
Compiler:          gcc 4.4.3 
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open document from http://r2u.org.ua/data/isum.odt
2. Check three styles applied to the test: KrymRusBold, KrymRusAux, KrymUkr
3. Save the file with some other filename
4. Open this newly saved file
5. Check that text that had KrymUkr style now is using Default

I am using kword 2.1.81 from Mandriva Cooker

This issue is probably fixed, I can't double check since the test document is no longer available.
Please reopen if you can still reproduce with a version higher than 2.3

Not fixed in 2.3.1, the document is available again at the url

I can confirm that the roundtripping is incorrect. I also made a local copy of the document now.

The "KOffice" application suite is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed.

We recommend to switch to the "Calligra" application suite, which has replacements for all unmaintained KOffice applications:

- KWord was replaced with Calligra Words
- KPlato was replaced with Calligra Plan
