Instead of always showing underlines for accelerators in buttons, menus, etc. they should only be shown when the Alt key is pressed. Always showing the underlines can be confusing to users and adds clutter.

In Windows this is the default behavior since Windows 2000 and in GTK+ it's a configuration option (see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=588554), and I think it should also be available in KDE.
Note that in GTK+ it's also possible to completely disable the accelerators, but I don't think that's a useful configuration option.
