Assigning to Nepomuk, since Strigi itself seems to have no bugtracker and Nepomuk is the most strigi-related project in KDE SC.

This is indeed a Nepomuk (or rather Virtuoso) issue. The Virtuoso full text indexer engine does not use the dot as a tokenizer character. See the related bug report: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3009633&group_id=161622&atid=820577
