Sentry Crash Report:

Description Jonathan Thomas 2010-03-19 19:43:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

On fresh KDE installations and/or new users, the KRes migrator pops up, converting the default resource to an Akonadi.

Shouldn't the default address book resource be an Akonadi resource by default? As it stands, the migrator popping up on clean installs clutters the initial desktop with an unnecessary popup, and wastes ~25 MB of RAM by starting up the entire akonadi stack. As it stands, this is a wart on the startup experience for KDE. (I hope I don't sound like I'm whining, though. Thanks for doing the work that you guys do.)

Still present with kde-4.6.0 + kdepim-beta4.
With an additional oddity: kres-migrator-dialog pops up at EACH kde-startup, saying the "Default Address Book" was converted to akonadi, yet.

Dear reporter, the resources handling got redone for KF5 and KF6 based PIM applications.

If you still encounter the issues you had in the past, please report them to the current maintained and updated PIM applications you use

Thanks a lot!
