Version:           1.13.1 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-20-generic

I closed kontact yesterday, opened it up again today. no error message or anything, but:
in several folders the spam/ham status of my messages were gone, while in some others it is still intact.
I have no idea how this happened.

i still don't know why, but it happened again.

this time i tried to recover from a backup afterward, but it wouldn't get the status back.

i realized that actually action mark, important and tags were lost as well! :(

where are those stored? someplace other than ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ ?

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.

you are right to close this bug.
it never happened again afterwards and i never could figure out why it happened.
