Version: (using KDE 4.4.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Archlinux Packages When i right-click on a big video file and select properties (4gb h264 in mkv is a valid case) in dolphin, hd starts to read something for very long time. meantime, dolphin appears to be totally dead, after long time properties window finally appears. console messages seems to be useful: [..] dolphin(4786)/kdecore (services) KMimeTypeFactory::parseMagic: Now parsing "/usr/share/mime/magic" dolphin(4786)/KFileMetaInfo KFileMetaInfoPrivate::init: KUrl("file:///MyVideoFileHere.mkv") [..] Dolphin hangs just after KFileMetaInfo. Working on big video files over a network (smbfs,sshfs) or on encrypted fs is very difficult.
