Fixed already. Update to the latest version... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 210462 *** This bug has already been solved since a long time. Please update to a stable version of Digikam (1.1.0) and ask ubuntu to stop using an unstable version in a so called stable distribution without updating.... You can use ubuntu backports for that. Julien Not working, but don't know if I've done all the things needed. I'm newbie in Linux and don't know much about installing packages. Here what I've done: In terminal: # apt-get purge digikam (removing, all right?) Installing dependencies as in http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download/KDE4?q=download/dependencies: # sudo apt-get build-dep digikam # sudo apt-get build-dep kipi-plugins Then trying to install from backports: # apt-get -t karmic-backports install digikam It used digikam_2%3a1.0.0~beta5-1ubuntu1_i386.deb that was already downloaded (hasn't need to download anything), I guess that should be the problem... But don't know what to do nor what I've done is the right thing. Help? Oh! I don't want to clean all the apt's packages stored here. Additional information: using KDE 4.3.2 and karmic-backports is in sources.list already. If you have activated the backports, then you can lunch synaptic and look for digikam, it should be easy. You do not need to install the build depedencies, those are mandatory only if you want to compile digikam yourself. Installing digikam backport package will install dependencies automatically.
