Description Martin Steigerwald 2010-03-12 11:19:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

On displaying the dialog to change city and provider Plasma darkens the rest of the desktop and does not react to clicks anymore. When I then accidentally minimize that dialog I cannot get it back by clicking on the window title in the toolbar. Instead I killed plasma-desktop and restarted it again. Later I thought I might have been able to bring the window in front by some KWin operation, but still for the casual users this is highly confusing at best.

IMHO there is no need to block Plasma GUI for that dialog window. It isn't blocked for the initial Plasma widget settings window either.

(I dislike blocking dialogs in general... I want to have free decision *where* I put my attention.)

This appears to be fixed with KDE 4.4.2 SC. I got qt-kde.debian.net package plasma-widgets-addons 4:4.4.2-0rc1 today. Closing.
