Description shishir verma 2010-03-10 09:06:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

In KDE 4.4.1, when knetworkmanager connects to a wireless network, the icon does not seem to be correct. It looks the same as the one for when it is connecting to the network. Earlier, the icon used to carry a green tick mark to show that it was connected.

I have just voted for this bug. Actually, the two icons for "connecting" and "connected" are VERY similar. You need a magnifying glass to tell the one from the other.

I have found a workaround. Uninstall knetworkmanager and install 'plasmoind-networkmanagement'. I would still like to see this one fixed though.
Comment 3 Lamarque V. Souza 2011-03-17 04:34:36 UTC
The monolithic knetworkmanager is unmantained, so it is very unlikely someone will fix that. The plasmoid is going to be the official networkmanagement tool for KDE.

Can I close this bug?

Yes, please go ahead and close it. I am very happy with the plasmoid.

Thanks,
