Version:           1.1 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), 4.4.0-9.fc11 Fedora)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.30.10-105.2.23.fc11.i686.PAE

I can't remember what exactly was the behavior before the update.
but it is intuitive that when you see someone birthday \ anniversary you could click to get his contact open \ send message.

in the current version there is a context menu where you can send mail to the contact or you can view the person's contact info.

should be good enough for this bug report.
