4.4.1 update of 4 March 2010 prohibits Kontact from starting up.
It only opens with a screen asking to pick the preferred start up application and then closes down.

Need urgent attention because it prohibits Kontact from working.

Also, if you need to use the KDEPIM applications right now you can use them separately (launching KMail, Korganizer, ..., as standalone applications)
