I started the game again at a later time and now there is again the difficulty not influenced by the slider and the possibility in "settings" to 'SET DEFAULTS" is grayed out. So, I have no way to set the difficulty. One more comment: I used the popup-offer from the OS (fedora12) for updates regularly and allowed all updates. The last happened about at the time the problems with ksudoku started. I frequently play ksudoku and didn't notice this problem until the first time I launched the game after 'yum update' upgraded my FC11 system to KDE 4.4.0. I have the same problem in Fedora 12 after the update to KDE 4.4 I have the same problem for KDE 4.4.0 and 4.4.1 on Windows (MSVC-32bit, windows XP x64 edition) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 217925 *** I have replaced the puzzle generator and solver in KSudoku with a completely new generator and solver based on published algorithms. It will be released in KDE SC 4.8, due out in late January 2012. The new algorithms provide a full range of difficulties, from Very Easy to Diabolical and beyond, which have been tested against ratings of puzzles published in newspapers and on the Internet. Enjoy! See http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.8_Feature_Plan#kdegames for further details of changes to KSudoku in KDE SC 4.8. |
