Description kavol 2010-02-25 09:37:57 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs

when trying to start kmail over ssh with X forwarding, the first try is always unsucessful - almost immediately I get the following error (in less than 5 seconds - hardly any timeout due to network lag, sometimes it takes more to start kmail locally ...)

[kavol@kavol ~]$ kmail
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_klauncher.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kded4.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kbuildsycoca4.so
kbuildsycoca4 running...
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kconf_update.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kwalletd.so
<unknown program name>(1593)/: Communication problem with "kmail" , it probably crashed.
Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." "

on any subsequent try, I get these messages and kmail starts normally:

[kavol@kavol ~]$ kmail
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/bin/knotify4
[kavol@kavol ~]$ kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/bin/kwalletmanager
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/kio_imap4.so
<unknown program name>(1634)/ kdemain: IMAP4::kdemain
QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible: No Icon set
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/kio_file.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/kio_file.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/kio_file.so
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/kio_file.so

while I suspect this problem probably is not specific to kmail, I didn't manage to reproduce with anything else

I can't reproduce here. It works fine.
