What I was doing when the application crashed:
I am able to consistently reproduce the crash by following these steps.
load a playlist
select dynamic playlists
create a new custom bias, settings are irrelevant 
turn on dynamic mode if not already enabled
click repopulate

Please upgrade to Amarok 2.2.2, this is solved since quite some time. See also http://kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.2.2
