Hello, Forget in this bug report the last part of my original bug entry about "After a system restart all nicely positioned icons are moved to the left" since this is reported in bug 237123 I have now installed openSUSE 11.3 (i586), using OS linux 2.6.34-12-default i686 and KDE 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 2". My panel is still at the top of my screen and the taskbar at the bottum. The movement of applets and programs in the panel is still not consistent in the left and right part of the panel. In the left part of the panel (after steps 1, 2 and while performing step3 from the original bug report) the system created a spot for the applet/program and releasing the left mouse button keeps that applet/program on that spot. For the right part of the panel releaing the left mouse button results in moving backwards of the applet/program to its original place. Only a right click keeps the applet/program on its wanted place. Unfortunately the right mouse click calls often up a menu popup, so that you cannot continue to move the next icon. You have to close the popup menu fist by clicking on the desktop workspace and than continue with step 2. Clicking on Panel Option from the popup menu makes it even less efficient since the Panel Settings option just closes the opened-up panel setting. The severity has gone up since I now have to spend every morning 5-10 minutes to sort out the mess in my panel (because of bug 237123 and it is now my life system) and the cumbersome applet/program movement described in this bug report. Regards, Frans can you test again with kde 4.5? there it should work |
