I also had this problem yesterday after the Qt 4.6.1 -> 4.6.2 update of archlinux. After restarting the whole system and recompiling digikam it worked again. I can confirm this. Restarting your kde session fixes this. I saw this too today, also likely had an update. It's marked fixed, but will still trouble users. Shouldn't somebody be restarting something after the update so this works? I'm willing to work with my distro's KDE maintainers to make sure that happens, but I'm not sure what the root cause is here. If the "fix" is really only to restart KDE then I do not think it's worth putting any work into this. Updating KDE/Qt needs a KDE restart – nothing unusual. Got this problem in 2.7 with lubuntu 12.04/ppa. logout/login (aka restart kde) solves the problem and it seems whole kde was affected as KDE Crash handler also had some strange similar behavior. Probably those are related bug 227498 - 194925. This problem is relevant of digiKam KIO Slaves and all of these have been dropped in favor of a multi-threaded interface to query the database. |
