The defaults notification sounds in Kopete while nice are not very distinctive and often it is hard to tell has someone just messaged/gone on or off line and something else - perhaps given them a change?
I dont know how to make sounds - but willing to learn

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
