Version:           1.13.0 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-19-generic

The kmail documentation states that upon clicking on the "properties" of a folder there should be a "Folder holds a mailing list" checkbox. 
That checkbox is not there in my kmail.

So either the documentation or my kmail ist wrong.

The documentation seems outdated.
You find this option via the "Folder" Menu -> Mailing List Management
