But, it's OK if I just clicked Refresh

The crash can be reproduced every time.

The backtrace looks related to bug 220344, but the situation doesn't seem to be related...

I've consolidated all the "canceled searching" bugs into this one. If it is found that this is bug 220344 later, then we can mark this whole thing as a dupe of it.

I believe this bug had something to not waiting for
PackageKit response which has a backported patch to
0.5.x version, can someone see if with 0.6.x version
this bug still occurs? I cannot reproduce it anymore.

Yes, It's still bug.
Kubuntu 10.04
ps: KPackageKit don't work after some wasting time. After while, it hangs on any task, such as searching of packages.
