Description SteveK 2010-02-14 20:44:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I have noticed that using the preview player in the information panel for audio in Dolphin works when used directly from the containing folder, but doesn't work for search results (nepomuksearch:/.............).

There's no output when running from a terminal - when the play button is clicked, nothing happens.

Not sure if this is a Dolphin or Nepomuk Search KIO slave issue.

Cheers,

Steve

I think this may have been fixed since Nepomuk search changed the way the files are handled, and now, the real files are opened (instead of some kind of copy with the trailing nepomuksearch protocol)
- Can anyone confirm this with KDE SC 4.5 or 4.6 ?

Hello,

I'm now using 4.5.4 in Archlinux and the problem is still here, although running Dolphin from a terminal gives this output when the play button is clicked:

dolphin(3839)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::SimpleJob::doKill: KIO::TransferJob(0xa1b65c8) This is overkill.

Oh I just tried on another machine testing 4.5.85 (4.6) and it works as expected using dolphin's built-in Find tool.

Typing "Nepomuksearch:/filename" produces the message:

"Could not start process. Unable to create io-slave:klauncher said: Unknown protocol".

But maybe that's a different issue?

Mh, I don't know if nepomuksearch:/ can be invoked directly now as some things changed. May be Sebastian or Peter can tell about this

I fixed this in r1201458 about 3 weeks ago.

@Stevekej: Instead of manually typing 'nepomuksearch:/', you could just click on a tag or use the integrated find tool or use the faceted browsing panel.
