Version:           4.4 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Chakra)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-ARCH

Changing eg. a title in a repeated event, also changes the event start date to the date of the edited instance. AUCH - DATA LOSS :0

I can not reproduce this on my Debian Sid/Unstable system with KDE 4.4.3
It changes the title and nothing more, as expected.

I can reproduce this in KDE 4.4.2 on Kubuntu. Editing the title of a weekly recurring event erases all previous events.

Default Calendar:

I can also confirm on Kubuntu 10.04 with KDE 4.4.3, using the Default Calendar:
/home/lucid/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics

This was a brand-new install, nothing carryover. The calendar was blank when I started.

Editing the event changes the UID, so it looks to me like any edit replaces the recurring event with a new event with the same recurrence as the original, but starting on the edited date.

As per Bug 236563 (marked as dupe of this one) I am changing the title of this bug to better reflect the issue.

SVN commit 1141475 by smartins:

Disable the active date stuff and use the old behaviour:
The editor's date pickers have the values of the start of the recurrence series.

It was buggy because we don't have proper support in KCal for editing individual occurrences, other than dissociating events. (but we will have)

Fixed for openSUSE in KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and openSUSE Factory, as soon as the repos sync to mirrors
