Description Diego 2010-02-06 22:57:41 UTC
Version:           0.9.80 (using 4.3.95 (KDE 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2)), 4.3.95-3.fc12 Fedora)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.32.3-10.fc12.i686

Okular occupies a lot of CPU when rendering this PDF:
http://www.kdab.com/images/free_downloads/qtcreator.pdf

It even crashed one time, but at that moment I could not install debuginfos. This happens both in 4.3.4 and 4.4.0 (RC).

The file loaded Ok for me and it just consumed CPU during the loading (5 seconds~) here using:

Qt: 4.6.1 (kde-qt master commit 5ccbae0c2d9254efe67599137afec763d4fec0f6
        Date:   Tue Jan 19 20:42:24 2010 +0100)
KDE Development Platform: 4.4.61 (KDE 4.4.61 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100127))
kdelibs svn rev. 1082077 / kdebase svn rev. 1082077
kdegraphics svn rev. 1080255
poppler 0.12.3
on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.32.3

- What is your "poppler" packages version ?

Regards
Comment 2 Albert Astals Cid 2010-02-24 23:53:21 UTC
Okular is not responsible for rendering the pdf files (poppler is) so it is not the cause of the slowlyness you might be seeing, assuming you have a poppler version >= 0.12 please go to bugs.freedesktop.org and file a bug report against the poppler product.

Thanks for using Okular.
