Description Noel Duffy 2010-02-06 03:45:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
Compiler: gcc-4.4.2 Compiler is default rpm for Fedora 12
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Browsing usenet using the usenet server reader.usenet4all.se which requires authentication. Knode uses the wallet built into Fedora to read the username and password for reader.usenet4all.se. At first all is well. However, after about two minutes I see this in the message pane when I try to view an article:

An error occurred.

Unexpected server response to ARTICLE command:
400 reader.usenet4all.se: Idle timeout.

I have only recently switched to Knode from Pan. I have not seen anything like this on Pan, it seemed to cope with this server without difficulty.

Additional: Once the timeout message appears, attempting to read any other article causes a dialog box to pop up asking me for the usenet server password. Knode should retrieve that from the wallet, where it got it at startup, not ask me to enter it.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
