Sentry Crash Report:

Description Stefan T. 2010-02-05 20:58:42 UTC
Version: 1.1.0 (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I use 'Advanced Search' it gives me wrong results. Have I missed something?

Criteria used in search is:

Width: 1280, Height: 1024

Results are: 1920x1200, 1600x1200, etc, instead of 1280x1024 as expected.

Thank you.

digikam 1.1.0, kipi-plugins 1.1.0, Kubuntu 9.10 with KDE 4.4 RC2. digikam is
not from their repository, I compiled it...

The fields says "Find pictures with a width between ... - ...".
Did you try 1280 and 1281?
Comment 2 Stefan T. 2010-02-05 23:29:29 UTC
No, but I did 1280 and 1280, but this is not allowed. I wasn't that smart.:)))

I have one more problem with it.

I tried after that 1280x1900 for width and 1024x1200 for height.

This worked, I got better results. It wasn't what I wanted, but better, but than I discovered new bug. Or maybe there is something wrong with my system.

First result of search was: 8 photos, but when I moved my mouse over Album View more photos were displayed, and when I moved my mouse away from album view, there were 8 photos again.

If you don't understand what I want to say I can send you snapshots or video. Same thing happened with fuzzy search (Sketch), but only once.

When I said Album View I meant Image View (I am not sure how you call it).
Comment 4 Marcel Wiesweg 2010-02-06 12:02:10 UTC
Yes it can't do 1280-1280 currently. Entering 1280 will remove that number again and switch to >=1280. The relevant code is small but complicated and I dont feel like fixing that right now.

Your other problem: I seem to understand but I dont know where this could come from. Two screenshots would be great.

"I seem to understand but I dont know where this could come
from."

Maybe there is something wrong with my system. I have KDE 4.4 rc2...

I have two more questions related to search?
Comment 6 Marcel Wiesweg 2010-02-20 15:32:24 UTC
I have never seen this problem with a stable digikam version. (it reminds me of the early days of the icon view porting last year, when there were some problems in the sort model and the categorization code)
I am running KDE4.4 now as well, but that should not have an effect.
This is very difficult to solve if I cannot reproduce.

If you have more questions, please go on.

With digiKam 5.0.0, this problem is not reproducible.
I close this file now. Don't hesitate to re-open if necessary.
