With mysql 5.5.1-m2, akonadiserver fails to start (this is on first startup, so all configs are at the defaults).

I'm not running anything else that might access the database, and I'm not running any other mysql servers on the machine, so the only way it could be running several times is if Akonadi launches it several times.



The D-Bus and resource agent errors are probably caused by the earlier error (probably akonadiserver aborts because of the mysql errors, and therefore doesn't register at D-Bus or list the resources that do exist).

"akonadiserver" crashed too often and will not be restarted!

FWIW after this happens, mysqld is still running

/usr/sbin/mysqld --defaults-file=/home/arklinux/.local/share/akonadi//mysql.conf --datadir=/home/arklinux/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ --socket=/home/arklinux/.local/share/akonadi/db_misc/mysql.socket

And I can talk to it through that socket - but akonadiserver isn't running. Without further debugging, this looks like akonadi server respawns mysqld a couple of times (causing the "Unable to lock" errors), but doesn't stay around long enough to see the mysql server that works.

We got a similar report a few days ago. Akonadi seems to start without issue with 5.1.42 but fails with 5.1.43.
