Sentry Crash Report:

Description Maciej Mrozowski 2010-02-04 03:02:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.4 p1.0, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

This is 4.4 branch (~ just after rc3), Qt-4.6.1

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open up dolphin with default layout (in new account for instance)
2. (Optional) Add entry 'something_longer' to Places (left panel) so that it doesn't fit in panel and it's automatically abbreviated - sometimes adding longer entry is not even necessary and default places don't fit.
3. Move left slider a bit right (resize Places panel) or right slider a bit left (resize Information panel) - so just adjust any slider to your liking.
4. Close dolphin and open again - slider positions are lost.

It doesn't matter whether Settings->Configure Dolphin->General->Behaviour->View Properties is set to "Remember..." or "Use common..."

Thanks for the report, but this issue has been there always. The View Properties setting does not apply to the panels, but I agree that this should be fixed.

Really? I have strange feeling that it worked in 4.4 branch until recently. Or maybe it just didn't use to start with the left slider moved as much to the left as possible as it is now? Anyway I think something could be done to make either defaults a bit better (to make Places big enough to fit entries without abbreviating them) or splider positions persistent.

I can no longer reproduce this in 4.4 branch, so I consider this has been fixed, can you confirm, Peter?

OK, so to provide more details from me:
KDE SC 4.4 (svn branch, Gentoo live packages), Qt-4.6.2

Unable to reproduce (anymore).

@Mirza - could you try with some clean account?)

Hmm, no idea, you could try removing Height=, State= and Width= values from dolphinrc as well as [MainWindow] senction.

Anyway I'm closing this one as fixed.
