I rebooted, tried to login to KDE4.3.5 (Kubuntu 9.10 x64) and after login I saw just black screen and cursor. I have the NVIDIA card and was using the KDE in Kubuntu for half an year without problems.

on the other side I have no longer problem with the disabled logout in KDE :o)

- Does Alt-F2 works ? (to invoke KRunner to launch other apps)
- Do you get some Crash Handler dialog ?

Yes, Alt+F2 worked, but killing and running plasma-desktop did nothing. Sadly, I got no crash dialog.
