In gimp and used alt+f2 to bring up krunner. Started to type inksc... for inkscape and krunner crashed an drkonqi said "hello" :p That's really it.
From bug 225484: -- Information about the crash: When trying to access the desktop search throughh krunner, it crashed. From bug 228028: -- Information about the crash: I pressed ctrl+f2 and started typing "system" to get to the KSysGuard. I have locale set to Norway and thus tried to type "systemovervåking" but got only to "system" when krunner crashed. *** Bug 225484 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 228028 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** From bug 226794: -- Information about the crash: This bug occurs only sometimes and is not reproducable everytime. It mainly occurs after hitting the spacebar, when krunner loads Nepomuk search results or looking after processes to kill (after typing "kill ") *** Bug 226794 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 41787 [details]

I entered "leo jugular" into KRunner to look up the german meaning of that word. I am using web shortcuts with space as delimiter. The crash backtrace looks pretty much the same than in this bug.
I am using Debian experimental and semi-official qt-kde.debian.net experimental-snapshots packages for KDE 4.4.1:
martin@shambhala:~> apt-show-versions | egrep "(libqt4-core|kdebase-workspace-bin)"
kdebase-workspace-bin/experimental-snapshots uptodate 4:4.4.1-0rc4
libqt4-core/experimental uptodate 4:4.6.2-1

After tabbing through the search results, the krunner applet suddenly froze and after 1 minute or something it segfaulted.

This often happens after a few characters. I then have to close the KRunner window via Esc, open it again (Alt+F2), type whatever I want again and then it works. This happens maybe 50% of the time I use KRunner. In 30% it finds what I search for but I type too fast and when I press return at the end nothing happens but when I press Return again, it executes whatever I want (I mostly use KRunner to execute commands/start apps). Same issue for me on Debian Squeeze KDE 4.4.5.
[Comment from a bug triager] This is likely to be fixed in KDE SC 4.5.x and later. |
