Description Alexander Potashev 2010-01-30 10:58:42 UTC
Version:           0.5.9-l0 (using 4.3.95 (KDE 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2)), Gentoo)
Compiler:          x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32

For example, in data/russia_subjects.kgm, we have:
        <division>
                <name>Saratov</name>
                <capital>Saratov</capital>
                <color><red>230</red><green>179</green><blue>179</blue></color>
        </division>

This is the string for that in kgeography.po:
#: mapsdatatranslation.cpp:5009 mapsdatatranslation.cpp:5010
msgctxt "russia_subjects.kgm"
msgid "Saratov"

But the first (<name>Saratov</name>, it's better to call it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saratov_Oblast) is the name of federal subject, and the second (<capital>Saratov</capital>) is the name of city. These strings should be different at least in Russian. Please, make it possible to have separate translations of those 2 strings.

The above applies to all other federal subjects except probably the federal subject of Moscow and the federal subject of Saint Petersburg.

Do you think you could work on creating a fixed russia_subjects.kgm file?

Hi Albert, (happy new year, by the way)
Sorry I have demonstrated no activity for long.
For this file, I modified it accordingly this afternoon but did not
commit. I took a nap. And then you ask ;-) So I take the occasion to ask
you advise on the ... subject. I took the wikipedia page as reference
and it uses capitals for 'Krai', 'Oblast' and 'Republic'. Should I
follow this or should I put 'krai', 'oblast' ans 'republic' ?
Thanks in advance. Regards.
