Description Jan Binder 2010-01-28 23:12:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Some people, including myself, would like to have independently switchable virtual desktops on each physical monitor.

(also discussed here:
http://ask.slashdot.org/story/10/01/28/206240/2-Displays-and-2-Workspaces-With-Linux-and-X )

Something similar is possible when using seperate X sessions for each monitor. Unfortunately, windows cannot be moved between X sessions and each X session has its own cut&paste buffer.
There are some hacks that make the dual X screen stup usable, like Xpra or Xmove which may or may not work.

So would it be possible to have Kwin manage independently switchable virtual desktops on a XRandR/ Xinerama X screen consisting of multiple physical monitors?
